Fewer violent incidents in Deep South reported in October

BANGKOK, 2 December 2014 (NNT)- The situation the Deep South has improved although the security units must remain vigilant, says Deputy Defense Minister General Udomdej Sitabutr.

The Defense Minister said security measures would continue to be in place as there remain certain individuals who oppose the peace talks.

According to the General, the talks will begin soon, stressing that the peace process must be in line with the Prime Minister’s policy, which will be presented in the near future, and that some adjustments need to be made first.

He further explained that there were fewer violent incidents in October this year than in the same period last year. The situations in other areas of the Deep South have improved as well.

He also emphasized the Defense Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan’s wish for every Ministry and organization involved in the peace process to work according to the need of local residents in the restive south.

Good to hear.....,

But it still needs some serious ideas and efforts to solve this, for too long, ongoing matter.

Responsibility and integration should be a major fact here.
