Since Cebu Pacific dropped the ball on the BKK to CRK (Clark airport) and gave it to Tiger

airlines fares gone nuts, now they're over B.20,000 return for this month, other airlines that

used to fly there also stopped the service.. it seems that no choice but to fly to Manila

and take a taxi to Angeles.. gee, how things change so quickly...

That's progress for you. Actually there is one alternative, fly to Manila and take the bus to Clark (or to Dau). That saves you about 2000 pesos.

Tigerair Philippines was acquired by Cebu Pacific Airways in January this year. The Tiger brand has been retained but I suspect that's only a matter a time. No airline currently flies direct from Bangkok to Clark: you can fly to Manila and then bus/taxi it to AC, or you can fly to Hong Kong and get a direct flight to Clark from there (Dragonair and Cebu Pacific/Tigerair both fly that route).

It was Sea Air I flew the last few times BKK-Clark; nice new planes and a decent 8pm departure time but always had to book through the Tiger website. Was Sea Air a subsidiary of Tiger?

One friend in the air cargo business said this is not something the airlines have done...that Clark-BKK was a profitable route but that this the Government shutting down flights to Clark, maybe a way to control the expansion of Angeles City and all that goes on there.

yes, SEAIR was the subsidiary of TIGER SG.

Airfares easily have doubled in the PH in 2014, since CEB acquired TIGER / SEAIR and AirAsia took over ZEST AIR. As Air Asia is still not offering the full gamut of domestic routes (though they announced the opening of many new routes recently), it is almost a monopoly for CEB. Then there is PAL, but many routes are actually served by their miserable PAL EXPRESS no-frills daughter, where you only get 10KG of check-in luggage and can NOT purchase additional luggage packages, instead you will charged dearly per Kilo at the Airport.
