Design And It Center

A few years ago the Phuket Gazette reported that Ko Samui was slated as the future center for Design and internet technology. I believe it reported that the government and some IT technology companies where planning on building a center with equipment, school and resources for Computer gaming, design and internet technology. I was just wondering if anyone else heard about this? Is it still in the works?

The IT complex in Samui is like nothing else in Thailand that I have seen, but I don't think there is too much emphasis on education. It's mostly a business center and caters to a number of technology-intensive companies and related services.
