Fire at plastic factory in Samut Sakhon

SAMUT SAKHON: -- A huge fire broke out at a plastic product manufacturing factory in Samut Sakhon province Tuesday night, causing damages initially estimated at over 20 million baht.

The fire at Inno Grow factory on Rama 2 road in Muang district happened at about 8.30 pm near the gate to the factory building and quickly spread.

At the time of the blaze, only three workers were working inside.

The fire was first spotted at the circuit board installed at the wall of the building.

Workers tried to put it out when it first started but couldn’t as it raged quickly.

Firemen were alerted and they arrived in almost 20 fire trucks.

However due to the plastic products inside, firemen could put the fire under control an hour later.

Production machinery and plastic products worth more than 20 million baht were all gutted after the building collapsed to the ground after the fire.

Forensic police inspected the fire scene Wednesday morning o find the exact cause of the fire, but initially they suspected electrical short circuit.
