BANGKOK: -- The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) will pose 60 questions to former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Friday in her impeachment case related to her government's rice-pledging scheme.

The NLA's inquiry panel will pose these questions to find out the real costs incurred by the scheme, the reasons it continued despite such costs, and measures taken to prevent corruption. The NLA will also pose 23 questions to the National Anti-Corruption Committee (NACC) in relation to this case.

Meanwhile, former Parliament present Somsak Kiatsuranon and his deputy Nikom Wairatchapanich will also be questioned by the NLA tomorrow in relation to their alleged violation of the 2007 charter.

Questions will involve Somsak's behaviour while he chaired parliament sessions and also the constitutional amendments he oversaw. He will face nine questions, while Nikom will be asked 17. The NACC will also have to answer 35 questions in this case - 16 related to Nikom and 19 to Somsak.

Taweesak Suthakavatin, spokesman for the NLA inquiry panel, said yesterday that the order of proceedings would be categorised and would follow the sequence of each case by examining facts, legal content and opinions presented by the NLA.

That is assuming she can even count to 60, I have my doubts.

And I wonder why they upped to 60 from 20.. Must surely be an attempt to muddy the waters a bit, or maybe it's to be more precise. Either way I can't see how if this whole charade is played straight she has a leg to stand on

And the first question should be, why are you in a state of denial and refusing to express remorse for the sickening loss of money?

And the 2nd question should be

Did you attend every meeting that it was your duty to attend to make sure all was done correctly ?????

Total waste of time and Money, She is aware of all the questions weeks in advance. So she will have the answers. On top of that, they will just accept what she says.

The fist question should be. How did your wealth and assets, triple during your time in Government, totaling Over a Billion Baht. And Can you prove it?

Beyond the fact that the junta is unclear as to the definition of the word "impeachment", they seem to be increasing the number of questions arbitrarily. When will they decide on an appropriate number of questions ?

Why should there be a limit on the number of questions asked? Is one question per B10+ billion wasted excessive?

They can ask and many questions as they like, but at one time. Not just conjure up more as they come to mind.

It is a matter of due process, which is already questionable.

What a joke, they need to go back 50 years to start questioning corrupt politicians, this country was built for corrupt politicians.

The whole system (which is now being even further strengthened and reinforced) was built by corrution to allow more corruption to flow.

It's the culture stupid!

You don't think it reasonable that her answers might raise further questions and requests for elucidation? Is this a person known for clear, concise and direct answers to questions? Or for perjury?

If they style like a game show with a brand name handbag as a prize they might trick her into answering the questions.

And tonight on channel 3 itsssssss 60 questions

"For 10 points, and the chance to take home the handbag, who's idea was the rice pledging scam?"

You don't really understand this do you ?

The NLA members were given a certain time frame in which to submit questions to each party involved, as the deadline for those submissions has passed they now can say how many questions have been submitted to be asked of each party.

The previous number published was up to the date that announcement was made and was not a final number.

This will be good practice for the NACC when they investigate the many earlier outstanding cases still in the file especially those relating to the Dem Party.

Since you seem so knowledgeble, could you please list those many cases for us? Thanks wai.gif

60 questions, assume 10 minutes per question, 600 minutes = 10 hours.

So, this will takes three days. Following we might have possibly additional questions, delay granted to 'find' the right answer, etc., etc.
