Indeed. Why come to Thailand to go do American Bad food franchises of any kind. Such places are for the culinary and culturally illiterate and the unadventourous.  Also popular with visiting Indians and some Arabs for whom such places are a novelty.

Most western tourists in patts are here for women and cheaper prices whilst keeping other moving variables as close as to where they are from as possible.

Thats why fast food like mc Donald's and places like hooters are so successful.

False deadline. You haven't learned enough from our experts; pay more attention. If perchance it isn't closed by the end of the lease, then it might be closed by the end of the next lease. And so on, indefinitely.

A TVF Economist's doom prophecy has no expiration date ever. In fact on occasion I've asked for one in vain. Our ace Economits are all sitting around depressed waiting for CentralFestival to bankrupt in according to the prophecy of 2009, for the CentralFestival building to fall down, for Big C Extra finally to fail after the disastrous conversion from Carrefour, The Tunnel to flood, the buildings around the Tunnel to collapse, tourists to stop walking on the Promenade, the Hua Hin ferry to fail, the condo market to collapse and prices hit rock bottom, the baht collapse, blah blah. Poor things. So what if takes 10, 20 years or so?

Any violation of the TVF Economics Mausoleum Principle--"a Thai(land) construction/development/business establishment must last eternally, like the Great Pyramids, maintenance-free"--will finally prove them right. Aha! And that violation might just be The Beginning Of The End. Yep.

Did I say I'm a knowledgeable economist? All anyone needs is a bit of common sense to have a good laugh around here, pal.

Brilliant, well done.

Sure, mostly non adventurous tourists who are afraid and have no clue.

Might as well come here and go to Mc'Donald's every night for dinner.

Hooters here and in BKK are over priced tourist traps.

And where perchance might the adventurous man about town set forth of an evening armed with a clue or two?

I would guess from your question you have never been to Pattaya.

Come here and check it out 100's of other venues to choose from..

The people who visit Hooters dont mind dropping 1,000 plus baht for a hamburger and a few Chang beers.....

Except for a few tourist trap restaurants on Walking Street just about ANY other restaurant in Pattaya offers better value than Hooters....

I actually went there once, happened to be a miss hooters thing or something that day. Got the feeling they live in their own little universe. Too bad it's one of the remaining watering holes with sea view/breeze, what a waste.
