belting article here for spurs fans, about how villas boas has changed the tactics to get the most out of bale and everyone really.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/feb/26/gareth-bale-sensation-tottenham-style?fb=native&commentpage=1

He's done a good job has AVB. I'd likt Spurs to finish above Chelsea and for him to give the finger to Roman.

On another note. I didn't get to watch last nights game but on TalkSport this morning, Alan Brazil was scathing of Adebayor. Calling him lazy, not looking for a ball to come to him etc. Was he that bad?

Bale is contracted until 2016. Plenty of time to keep him and still demand a high figure for his transfer. If Spurs want to be taken seriously as contenders they need to strengthen and have a good showing in the cl.

Not trying the wind you guys up, but Bale is by far your best player. So to get to the cl, then weaken your side and risk dropping out again would be unforgivable.

Doesn't work like that mjj. If someone comes in with a really big offer offer say 60-70 million plus high wages the deal will be made. To take a chance that Bale might get injured (and a lot want to break his legs) and lose 70 mil would be too risky, especially for Levy. Plus you can't stop a player moving on for big wages, if you do there's every chance he won't be the same player.

carms really slated adeboy, me, i thought he was ok as per local derbies, got a bit of a battering, but got stuck in enuf and as smokes said he got himself there or thereabouts 4 scoring, just he didn't finish, it'll come I'm sure.the one i'm worried about is verity,4 me he was shocking, lets hoep he had a virus or something thats easily explained.

The other thing that's gone unmentioned is that its now 4 in 4? weve won with late goals,a total transformation from earlier in the season when we were consistently losing games in the last ?? mins, this is not per chance this is down to vb, apparently how vb's turned it around is in training in the last 1/4? or so of the session he said as opposed to lowering as per norm, he's 'up'd the amount of problems that players have to solve', v simple, but it's worked a treat, big big up to the geezer.

yeah tbh,he aint been on top of his game 4 a while, , the only positive that i could see from his performance was that the TEAM did what they could and covered for him, Lets hope like walker and caulker he plays through it.

If you guys make the top 4 and then sell Bale, you are a joke of a club. I hope you make it and keep him - although not at the expense of Chelsea. ;-)

If a player wants to go them the reality is you sell him. Its then a case of getting the best deal for the club. There is no benefit in holding a player to his contract if he wants to go. It just brings a divisive mood to the dressing room. (That human turd Sol Campbell did the worst thing possible in deliberately running his contract out. Wouldn't discuss anything with his teamates and created an aweful atmosphere at the club. Ferguson would have paid us 17m for him and the judas left us for nothing and joined our biggest rivals)

I confident Bale will do right by the club. He's a good lad, model pro. I doubt he'll go next season if we are in the champions league anyway but he'll almost certainly be off the season after.

It doesn't make us a selling club. He wants to play in europe. He always has done. If i was him i'd want to go to the biggest team in the world and play at the Bernabeu every other week on a massive salary in the sunshine of madrid. Wouldn't you?

I'd be shocked and amazed if he was sold to a premier league club. It would cause a riot.

Sylain Distin did that to us several years ago and I still hate the sight of him

I was delighted by his appointment. I also think he showed great maturity in the way he has obviously learnt from the Chelsea debarcle.

I don't know if you've seem the West ham derby but at the end the manner in which the players celebrated with him showed us very clearly theres a great team spirit and the players are completely behind him.

I've also noticed that the chelsea fans i know have recently refrained from laughing about him and slagging the guy off and tend to keep quiet. He was wasted on that vile little club anyway

It was strange that AVB left a specialist left back on the bench. He clearly doesn't rate BAE. Personally i would have played him as i don't really believe in playing players out of position just to accomodate them. i also think BAE has improved his distribution which was my only real criticism.

All that aside, Vertonghen looked like he needed a rest

In the first half we might as well played with ten men. He worked harder in the second and held the ball up well.

One thing i do know is he owes us a very big performance next sunday when we play the rapidly declining Arsenal football club.

i know liverpool fans who still hate steve mcmanaman for the same reason. albeit he didn't join our despised next-door neighbours for free and a massive signing-on fee.

I agree with what you have said, but I doubt if the Champions League will enter into it if a massive offer comes in from a big club that is also in the CL.

Beware old red nose, he's a big fan of Bale. biggrin.png

Utd don't pay huge transfer fees do they because they have a fantastic youth policythumbsup.gif

Don't forget Ferguson spent atleast two seasons tapping up Modric (because he's a knight of the rhelm and he's allowed to) but it was never going to happen. Bale will be off to Madrid, its only about "when".

From what I've seen (and read) I bet he's glad that fate was on his side and Modric went to Real.

I have no doubts SAF will one day be Lord Govan. wink.png

Yep, I fancy Bale for Real, he looks good in their colours.

perhaps modric's experience at madrid might convince bale he's better off staying domestic? maybe the young welshman doesn't fancy learning spanish?

wouldn't be the biggest surprise in the world to see him at united next season.

I think Bale's exit depends on champions league qualification. If we qualify i think AVB could persuade him to give us another season.

He likes playing under AVB and credits him alot with his improvement this season. At 22 years old i don't think he's in any hurry.

I have to admit i'd be really pissed off if we sold him to Utd. I enjoyed watching him carve through them at OT earlier in the season

sometimes you have no choice. if real madrid come knocking - or man united for that matter - and offering a pay rise, then heads get turned. just the way it is.

You are right Stevie, if Bale decides he wants to go to the likes of Real or Man U then he will probably end up going. Arsenal have received stick from some quarters for letting Van Persie go, but if he wouldn't sign a contract and made it clear he wanted to go what could they do? No point in keeping a player who doesn't want to be there. I hope Spurs qualify for the CL though and try to keep him in this country. it will cost them though. He is certainly on fire at the moment, a joy to watch. Another one off the production line from the Saints academy. ( Sorry, i couldn't resist getting that one in)!

Oh don't be so hard on him. It was the only way he was going to win the league at White Hart Lane.

Must say i'm really enjoying watching how chiqog's wallowing in the past. No trophys in eight years, a manager thats rapidly becoming a laughing stock, a ground devoid of any atmosphere and a side playing like a pub team. biggrin.png

Not sure that there was any truth in us being in for modric or fergie tapping him up, fergie does not buy midfielders we have been crying out for a midfielder in the roy keane mold for years, but we keep ending up buying all types of players but no midfielders'

In my opinion Bale is one of the most gifted players I've seen. He goes past two or three players as if they aren't there and his finishing is superb. He's 22 and will probably get better. I think we will find that CL or not the big clubs will come calling at the end of the season.....they will want him to get better with them, not with Spurs, they've already seen enough. I'd sooner see him at WHL because I enjoy watching him, but I think if a cheque for 60 million is flashed in front of Levy's eyes, then it won't be AVB's decision to make. The only decision for AVB, will be how to spend the 20 Mil that Levy will give him from the sale.
