Bit controversial this but Holtby for Erikson saturday !

Interested to hear why Alfie?

He's very much in form! I think he'll be featuring second half for what its worth.

Although its early days and were still getting used to each other i think saturday will be a real indication of where were at right now. Still worried about left back if Rose is crocked but elsewhere everyones playing really well.

Taking the potted view of others who saw the match v Villa......

Holtby is very much in form, but he attracts the criticism of blowing hot and cold, of being very much in the game for 5 minutes and then not seen for a while. Is that fair? Is this a stamina issue? I agree with Carms i suspect we will see him in the second half.

Eriksen has demonstrated he is the real deal so for me has to be first choice.

It looks like Fryers is no where near ready yet, and Naughton will be totally out of his depth v Chelsea. Chiriches at Villa evidently looked as if he no where near ready for a competitie start.

So if Rosé cannot start it is Vertonghen at LB for me. At CB Dawson with either Kaboul or in extremis Capoue. Hope one of them is fit. A conundrum if the injury issues have not been sorted. Is it time to find another old n bold squad defender..... Any available out of contract?

In the middle Sandro and Paulinho is a no brainer.

I think he will start with Jermain up front, with Soldado subbed early second half.

So Could he possibly go with a 4-2-3-1

Lloris

Walker Dawson Kaboul (Vertonghen) Rose

Paulinho Sandro

Lamela Eriksen Sigurdsson

Defoe

555555 "Didn't realise he was a Mickey Mouser"? You really are a thicko sunshine...the word "Anfield" and the 707070 etc would even have convinced Alfie C where my loyalty lies. Still, nice to see the new Yiddo rottweiller is even more dense than his mates 5555 (Carmine/Smokie excepted).

As for the living in the past, it was your own quote I was responding to you silly prat(t) (Tottenham link!).

And as for years in the wilderness, if memory serves me right, Spurs have won 2 League Cups since 1991. In that time LFC have won 4 League Cups, 3 FA Cups, 2 Charity Shields, 1 UEFA Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup.....oh and a Champions League. You can only dream about a wilderness like that. Maybe you should have signed Moses to help you out.

Finally, as for my sartorial elegance, 70's/80's was all suits (no, not court appearances 5555). Now having packed in work 15 years early, I am more a shorts and (collared) shirts on the golf course where I live type. How about yourself? singlet and tattoos in your rented room I bet 5555

PS:

Sorry Alfie...you were the gift that keeps on giving, but Casino has usurped your position with ease.

Jewish north west London (now atheist) so definitely no tattoos, Nike collared shirt on the golf course 4 times a week out of Pattaya, 2 bed condo on the beach, resort on the lake, international business in Europe (20 years established), travelled to over 90 countries globally, drink only Australian and Chilean red wines.... certified English teacher as a hobby... does that paint a picture Mr Hubcap Stealer......

Picture as clear as a bell from the church of St Mary-le-Bow.

Where's my fcking taxi?

Looks like I am the only one that thinks Jermaine deserves to start tomorrow. As I said before maybe it was the type of service that was lacking before; now with new players around him his fortunes in the Premiership might be more positive this year. On the other hand it was only Villa, Tromso and Tiblisi + 3 goals in Hong Kong. Anyway you slice it he is the top scorer at the moment.

Soldado to start with Defoe coming on at some point I reckon.

Plenty of substitutions tomorrow as the game evolves.

AVB v Mourhino.

I'm at a loss as to why Defoe doesn't get more starts. I obviously don't see as much of him as you guys but to me he seems to be an excellent poacher and still a great finisher. Does he not work hard enough elsewhere on the park?

carmine said Defoe had plenty of service last season but couldn't finish.

maybe he's improved?

BTW. Moyes will need Giggsy and the lesser spotted Neville to help him when they review the video of tomorrow's game.

Pellegrini will do it all by himself.

Its cos he is a lazy bastard who scores half a dozen quality goals a season then peppers the upper tier with the ball.

Way too wasteful for a top side....and he can't head a ball for toffee....nor hold it up and lay off.

Frankly he is fine if the service is fantastic....but no....think Blackpool.....one track pony.

His shot to goal ratio is dreadful. He might be a great finisher but the problem is he needs too many opportunities. Defoe's great against lesser opposition, where he gets more time and space but not at the higher level. He doesn't contribute enough either, doesn't track back the way Soldado does and is too greedy, which of course is fine if you're RVP but not if you are JD!

Defoe will do us proud in the europa, capital one and the FA cups, fine as a second half sub in league games but he simply not at Soldado's level

I hear where you and Carms are coming from, but, JD is finding the net. I have similar thoughts about the criticisms of Dawson. Forget last years poor performances, this term (at the moment ) he is the mainstay for us at the back. For sure it is likely both in terms of form will taper off as the season progresses, but as of now, it must be difficult not to select both of them to start.

Really looking forwards to a big game. It will be close. With a good pinch of luck we'll maintain a clean sheet, therefore 2-0 home win for me. COYS

Normally, definitely not, but little Jose is showing a few cracks this season when interviewed by the press, he doesn't like criticism... only for that reason I think he's a little more under pressure than in previous years... just my opinion. My brother is Chelskum, as are many friends, and I know they are not particularly happy with their team just now, but a win today would pacify the natives, me's thinks.... Of course I hope not.....

Yes the only way i can see Chelsea getting anything out of this is if they score first. Then Mourinho can park the bus. However i don't think they will and am quietly confident.

Please kick Chelsea's ass today. wai.gif

And send rijit back on to reappear in Jelly's soap cos the replacement is devoid of personality.

If my nerves can take it I am hoping Spurs score first with a blinder from Lamela.

Either that, or abject humiliation of the Spurs like City did to Untied.

Unlikely I grant you.

Draw written all over it.

Yes, if you were a betting man i'd say a draw although if we were to score first i think we could hold on for the win.

Big question is, will he play Mata? Very stupid if he doesn't.

Our morale, team spirit and a generally happy changing room will give us a significant advantage today together with of course the amazing fans. The lane is gonna be buzzing. And we all love AVB.

my 5 wishes of the day.

1. Spurs win without conceding

2. Defoe scores first half, Soldado scores second half

3. John Terry gets sent off

4. Man U get held to a draw.

5. Swansea thrash Arsenal

Hope to <deleted> the PC police don't ruin it all.
