E-M1 firmware update

Featured Replies

Or as my wife rather charmingly calls it: a spermware update.

Anyway, 3.0 was released today and provides 9 fps with focus tracking which is a nice update from the previous version. It also doesn't wipe out your existing settings which is a pleasant change.

So if you have an E-M1, get updating! If you don't, you can always chime in and suggest buying a Samsung or a Nikon or whatever.

Only just now saw this topic. Thanks for the heads up. Surprised it doesn't do a settings wipe considering the upgrade number and good to know.

Key Features of OM-D E-M1 Firmware Version 3.1
  • LV Boost II: assists vision in starscape photography.
    • LV Boost II which lets you display the Live View five EV steps brighter than the current LV Boost I, making it much easier to compose shots and confirm focus of darker scenes such as starscapes.
  • Underwater Picture Mode: provides vivid colours and beautiful reproduction of blues for underwater photography.

Just upgraded my firmware from 3.0 to 3.1. One caution, all customized menu settings get reset to defaults. Also some new menu items added to it. That's ok, I needed to go through the dozens of menu options to refresh my memory. biggrin.png
