After 4yrs of boiling a kettle to produce the fifteen litres of warm water every day in my spa (footwash and some oily sarong soaking)

We decided we can now afford to invest in a water heater.

Anyone got one.?

We have some dogs <deleted> stiebel eltron multi points that feed our spa room showers but for a single point; ie over the kitchen sink; are we simply talking about a cheaper version.

Dont want a shower unit per se but something that can draw from another tap or can it be drawn from the kitchen sink tap with a little pipe diversion.

Pipework are we talking mdpe into copper?

I have a water filter already attached to tap for our drinking water.

Electrics...dedicated 6mm with pole switch? Our sink is a long way and 1 floor below our consumer unit. Any other options.

Panasonic make some models that can auto start/stop, and can be plumbed in, set and forget style. I imagine for your use you'll be wanting something that produces decent amounts of heat, so you probably want to be looking at a 6kW unit - these can usually be picked up for 4,xxx Baht if you watch out for promotions. 6mm2 is correct - no matter how big you go it will deliver the startup current needed.

As for pipework for hot water, I can recommend the Pimaflex Multipipe. Super easy to install (even as a DIY), easily bendable and dirt cheap compared to copper or PPR. Sold at all Thai Watsadu stores.

Thanks IMHO.

There are literally dozens of water heaters ranging from 1500bt mickey mouse brands to 7500bt for a simple domestic water/shower heater.

A question re electrics if anyone can.

The belt and braces wiring should run the 6mm back the consumer. In my case concrete beams and floors and a floor apart meaning possibly 25m of unsightly cable.

But i have realised the proposed heater position would be less than 3m away from a shower unit in another room.

Can I run the cable from the adjacent shower pole switch into the new heater switch in series?

Or is that an electrical no no?

Water Heaters of 6kw require a single feed. You should not wire in 'series' (loop feed)

So one heater 1 cable from DB

You specifically mention a 6kw.

So are you saying a 3kw 4kw is feasible?

I dont need a 6kw heater a 3kw more than adequate for our needs.

To be completely accurate one needs length of cable from DB.

2.5mm is possibly ok, but 4mm would be much better.

Happy to do the calcs for you if you supply the info
