"The Amazing Race" in Phuket

Featured Replies

For those who may be interested, apparently the next episode is set in Phuket. Featuring Bangla Rd, Zip lining, etc.

The episode after that is in Bangkok

True AXN 336. Today 7/3, 1910hrs

I saw it, it was somewhat amusing. Thanks for the heads up!

Its also on U-Tube. Look for Season 26, Episode 3.

Lots of footage shot in Patong, but focuses mostly katoey show, flying hanuman zipline and wakeboard park.

Sounds great, but how many times does the Amazing Race have to visit the same countries, including Thailand? Thailand, including both Phuket and Bangkok have been featured on about half of all seasons of the Amazing Race starting with the very first season I think and yet I have yet to see even one episode featuring Laos or Myanmar. How ridiculous given how close they are and popular with travellers and how predictably boring the show has become, if all they can do is keep re-visiting the same old countries and the same old cities in those countries.

BORING.

But, just out of interest's sake, I'll take a look on Youtube or might download the torrent.

Far less than half.

I think visa restrictions play a big part in decisions on where to go.

According to Wikipedia, TAR US has visited 83 countries. Most pit stops in one country outside the US are China 17, India 15 and Thailand 11. Other countries visited in SEA include Malaysia 6, Indonesia 7, Vietnam 7, Singapore 3, Cambodia 2 and Philippines 4 times. Infrastructure and visa issues might be the issue with Myanmar and Laos.
