PATTAYA: -- An early morning raid involving over 70 Police Officers, took place at a construction site in Jomtien on Monday as officers searched for 4 men wanted in connection with the theft of 14 Million Baht’s worth of gold from a shop near Bangkok.

Police from Nonthaburi contacted Chonburi Provincial Police regarding the theft of gold from the Yawalat Gold Shop in Nonthaburi Province, close to Bangkok on the night of 8th March. They had received intelligence which suggested the men were hiding at the construction site, run by the Vorakit Construction Company.

The raid took place at 6am on Monday and lasted 2 hours. A total of 4 men were arrested and some of the gold was recovered, however the main target of the operation, Khun Chai, was able to escape with his wife and children prior to Police arriving.
