Working group for rice pledging damage recovery to be set up

BANGKOK, 11 March 2015 (NNT) – The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) is set to establish working group tasked with damage recovery to the former government’s rice pledging scheme, with the establishment scheduled to be concluded within this week prior to the approval, says the Commerce Minister.

PHUKET: -- Two homes were damaged this morning (March 11) after a fire broke out in the second storey of the MT Safety Glass shop in Moo Baan Irawadee. A short-circuit was to blame, say officials.

Popular Chiang Mai pub hit by fire

CHIANG MAI: -- A fire broke out at the Kiss Wandang pub in Chiang Mai's Sarapee district at 2 pm Wednesday. Ten fire engines took about half an hour to control the blaze.


The pub owner, Nitchanan Panyaduangket, said the fire caused about Bt40 million worth of damage.

PRD Dept Director-General launches 18 year anniversary event for PRD Region 8

KANCHANABURI, 11 March 2015 (NNT) – The Deputy Director-General of the Public Relations Department (PRD) officiated over the 18 year anniversary of the ‘United for National Reform’ celebrations for the Public Relations Office Region 8.


The PRD Deputy Director-General Charoon Chaisorn made his remark while presiding over the opening ceremony of the Public Relations Office Region 8’s 18 year anniversary celebrations on the office’s achievements to the society.

He praised that the office's many achievements, in accordance to the PRD’s vision to improve the standard of the officials in journalism, are to increase the happiness in the organisation for impressive service to the public, and to publicize the details on national reform and constitution drafting agenda to the public encourage participation.

He then mentioned that three the current objectives for the PRD, as appointed by the Prime Minister, are to publish and distribute the government newsletter to the public every 15 days with the content of the cabinet’s resolutions, to publicize all ministries' achievements, and to voice public opinion.

The feedback from this newsletter campaign will be gathered for the guidelines on national development, the PRD Deputy Director-General has said.

The PRD Deputy Director-General has also said regarding the Public Relations Office Region 8’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy Learning Center, that the center’s operation matches the mission of the PRD, that was initiated in cooperation with the Crown Property Bureau and the Advertising Association of Thailand, to push forward public practices of the Sufficiency Economy.
