Paying for vehicle tax

Featured Replies

Good afternoon,

I have received a letter from Thanachart - with whom I am paying the vehicle off on finance - which I think (after the missus has tried to explain) is about paying for yearly Car tax - just under 7k.

2 questions I was hoping to get clarified :-

1. Is it just as simple as taking the letter with me to Thanachart and paying the fee for tax?

2. Is this a standard price for this type of vehicle (4dr, 3Lr Hilux) ?

Evidently this is my first year paying for tax myself and would appreciate any help.

Many Thanks

I paid less I think, around 4k . But I'm not on finance, I just go to the Nissan dealer and they take care of it.

We paid 6896 in year 2 and in year 3 so yours will be the same ... I believe that it reduces after 5 years ... you could ask Trans as he has an old banger so he will know.whistling.gif

As you don't have the blue book you will need to pay the money to the finance company I guess, unless that has been included in your payments ... unlikely.

Had to come onto my PC to edit this ... I quoted the price for a 3Ltr 4D pickup, your model, ... smaller trucks are less.

Thanks JAS21, this is my 2nd year and price is around the same so think you are right about having to pay the finance company directly with no blue book.

Much appreciated!

the amount you pay I think is in the blue book? Or is that the last amount? anyway it will be about the same for the first 3 or 4 years.

Do you have the blue book?

I pay my tax at a drive-thru - just show them the blue book, pay the money and drive off...takes just a few minutes depending on the queue. i avoid Mondays, Fridays and first of the month.
