Platinum

does anyone know where the Platinum bikes are being sold here in Phuket? They are chinese made. dirt bikes and cruisers, 250 cc, something like Phantom.

The dealer in town closed over a year ago. Last time I saw the bikes sold was at Big C many months ago.

Their website went down summer of 2013 and I can't find a new one, so perhaps they have pulled out of Thailand completely. Some of the latest models had promise but I think they never overcame the initial quality issues of 2007-2009.

You can see their Thailand website achieved here: http://web.archive.org/web/20130616061901/http://platinummotorsale.com/

Honestly bro IMHO you'd be better off getting a used Honda or Kawasaki that's a year or two old -- as @NomadJoe alludes to there are still quality problems with Chinese bikes (they're getting better but gonna be a while before they get even close to Japanese & European quality standards (not that even these bikes don't have problems:). There are a lot more local guys buying bikes like Honda CBR 250s & 650's on financing nowadays -- look for more than a few of these to be on the market at reasonable prices due to not keeping up with payments, etc.
