Australian with Non Immigrant Category O Multiple Entry Visa

Featured Replies

My wife and I are Australian citizens with Australian Passports, Visa was issued in Brisbane.

As I understand it, we have a Thai visa good for 12 months which allows multiple entries.

Does this mean that we can stay for 12 months without leaving or do we need to leave at least every 3 months and then come back in again?

Does the new online reporting each 3 months apply to this type of visa?

All it says on the Visa is - Non-Immigrant Category O - No. of entry M - Entry before 16 Jan 2016

Would love to hear from someone who knows, I've looked on various websites but can't find the info I need.

You have to leave every 90 day to get a new entry.

Your visa will only permit stays of up to 90 days.

No "reporting" will be required as you will not stay in Thailand more than 90 days.

When you enter Thailand the first time you be given a stamp with "Permit to Stay" date that is 90 days from your entry date. You must depart Thailand by that date. Upon your second entry you will again be given a stamp for 90 days. This can be repeated as many times as you like until the "Use By" date on the visa. Enjoy your stay in Thailand.

Dont forget if you leave on say 13 or 14 of Jan 2016 and come back in on the 15th your visa is still valid and you will ger another 90 days. I have been doing it for 4 or 5 years.

No. It means you can come and go as many times as you want before the 16th Jan 2016.

Yes. The maximum time you can stay after any entry is 90 days. They will have stamped your passport with the date you must leave by. You can exit, turn around and come straight back in.

Does the new online reporting each 3 months apply to this type of visa?

No. Online reporting is for people with permission to stay in the country longer than 90 days. It doesn't apply to you.

Enjoy Thailand!
