I have 80,000 goong, 30,000 white shrimp, and 6,000 tilapia in my 2 rai X 2-4 meter pond and 12,000 striped catfish in my one rai pond and I am about t start some supplemental feeding for the Tilapia and catfish. Goong and shrimp have been growing for about 6 months, tilapia about 4 months, and catfish for about 10 months. I want the catfish to sell at about the 1.5 Kilo mark, the tilapia at about 1 kg, and the goong at about 250 Gm. I want to feed commercial supplement for the last 6 months for extra size/weight. Where is a good place to buy fish food around Udon and what kind would you suggest? Right now I have well fertilized ponds and giving catfish good amounts of rested, not hot, pig poo. The cats are about the 750 Gm mark and I would put the tilapia at about 350-400. The oxygen levels in the water must be good because I only see the circles from the goong/shrimp when they rise.

P.S This farm that I lease will be for sale in about 9 months to a year at a very good price. The farm in front of me just sold, unimproved rice fields trees and bushes, at 750,000 baht per rai. This 12 rai with house and lots of improvements will go at around 14,000,000 Baht.It also will have the road in front of it turned into 4 lanes very soon to serve the new University. Just raising fish on it, no goong, should give 500K to 750K per year income with existing ponds. there are another 4 rai in rice fields that can be turned into ponds for free.I was going to buy from the owner but my lady is going to inherit about a 30 rai working farm near Khon Kean and I will be moving there.

Thanks,

John

For anyone else who might like to know, if you go Pho Sri Road and turn on the road the morning market is on, I think Mak Kheang Road, and go past the market about 1/2 way up the next block on the left is a feed store. 20Kg bags of fish food are 300 baht each. You can also buy many different feeds there a decent prices.
