BANGKOK: -- NAKHON Ratchasima Governor Thongchai Lue-adule has already approved the revocation of land right documents held by Bonanza International Speedway, which is now mired in an encroachment scandal.

Solid evidence suggests the firm illegitimately occupied 166 rai of land in Nakhon Ratchasima's Pak Chong district.

Agricultural Land Reform Office, local lands officials, forestry officials and Tambon Khanongphra Administrative Organisation have already lodged encroachment complaints against the firm.

After the scandal broke out, Bonanza International Speedway could produce land-right documents for just 56 rai of land - and these were clearly issued illegitimately.

"Because we have found irregularities in the issuance of these land-rights documents, we have had them revoked," Thongchai said yesterday.

Another big business in Pak Chong being investigated for alleged encroachment is Kirimaya Resort.

The deputy permanent secretary for Justice, Dusadee Arawuit, said yesterday an ongoing probe suggests that Kirimaya bought 36 plots of land via auctions held by the Legal Execution Department.

These plots came to the department through the collapse of embezzlement-hit Bangkok Bank of Commerce and cover over 1,400 rai in Pak Chong.

"Still, if the land right documents are found to have been illegitimately issued, we will have to revoke them," he said.

He said relevant authorities would investigate further to nail down who was behind the issuing of land-rights deeds held by the Bonanza speedway and Kirimaya Resort.

"If the same government officials are behind the issuance, there is a possibility that they may have illegitimately issued land-right documents for other plots of land too," Dusadee said.

Kitti Thanakit-amnuay, the chief adviser to Kirimaya, said his firm was confident that it acquired the land plots legitimately and legally. But his firm preferred not to give any comment now so as to let officials investigate the allegation fully first.

Second Army Area chief Lt General Tawat Sookplang, meanwhile, said the military was ready to support relevant authorities in their work to reclaim state land that had been encroached upon.

He said the Second Army Area had successfully reclaimed 112,000 rai of forestland in seven northeastern provinces between May and now.

Colonel Sommai Bussaba, who sits on Second Army Area's legal team, said the issuance of land-title deeds for the Moon Dance project was clearly illegitimate.

Covering 115 rai of land in Pak Chong, this project has sold eight rai of its land to a famous TV news host.

"Given the illegitimacy, the deeds will be revoked and so do the ones now held by the news host," Sommai said.

How often has this happened under the Yingluck government? The Abhisit government, the Somchai government, the Samak government, the Surayud government, the Thaksin government, the Chuan governments, the Chavalit government, the Banharn government? I think we have a true patriot and man-of-action as PM now. He has far too much on his plate to do a great job but I believe his heart is in the right place. I wish him success against and entrenched and highly corrupt Civil Service and RTP that facilitates the evil doings of powerful men. Not only has he made enemies in the Thaksin camp but now he has 'thrown down the gauntlet' to the Old Elite also, and they will not give up their traditional privilege without a fight. Prayut has his work cut out for him. Fortunately he has Article 44 (and the army with tanks and soldiers with guns) as his weapon against entrenched corruption.

I smiled when I read what you had written. wink.png

but "we are redshirt" and can do what we want because we control everything......right ? lol

not any more cheesy.gif

Hoss: "Paw, Paw, Bonanza is shrinking!"

Paw: "Don't worry son, we can steal it back when the Big Boss gets us re-elected."

Why you know that RED SHIRT government officials give out the land papers? Did you asked your Crystal ball?

So, what now? They have to tear up the areas they have encroached on, or pay a large "fine" (to the right people) to allow them to purchase the land rights legitimately?

Did they take a look over the land ownership of Newin's new track I wonder ... ?

Sure won't upset the ownership of a certain football club, new F1circuit track and a world class golf course in Buriram.whistling.gif

To me, there seems to be an extraordinary amount of media coverage of this particular land encroachment issue.

There are much more serious encroachments throughout the country where very little seems to be happening..Phuket for example.....where the lands office and local government appear to be at a stalemate.

The Pak Chong/Kao Yai areas appear to have an inordinate amout of encroachments, and again, little is happening apart from a couple of mentions in the press.

So, the track and all of it's facilities are going to be removed and the area returned to it's former condition?

I'm sure they're not going to just take it over and use it for their own gains . . . 55555 . . .

This thing will be in the courts for the next 10 years. Unless 44 is used of course.

Tomorrow: Korat governor announces opening of public racetrack in province to help attract more tourists and their money.

I truly love this. The place is complete eyesore anyway. But, what about the massive houses up there in the resort? What are they built on?
