The Ao Chalong Yacht Club (ACYC) open day is on Saturday. The event will feature a national champion, Alfie Rowson, offering children aged 7 or older free dinghy sailing lessons. Rowson, along with Kingdom Property crewmates, won the 2014 Platu championship.

No experience is necessary, and all kids will have a chance to take lessons.

The event will take place right near the ACYC clubhouse from 11am to 4pm. All lessons will last 30-minutes. Kids will be able to try a Byte and Mirror Dinghy. Worried parents will be happy to know that there will be a safety boat in the water at all times, and there are life vests provided to all of the kids to ensure the utmost in safety.

Rowson is also an instructor at the ACYC seven days a week. He offers his services for students of all levels from beginner all the way up to instructor level. There is also instruction offered for national racing standard.

On Sunday, the ACYC race day will begin and will allow participants to view the event in Phuket’s beautiful waters. The clubhouse will have food and drink available, and visitors will be able to go sailing and relax on the shore.
