Hello could someone please assist me with some questions . I have been speaking with a girl based in Kalasin thailand for some time around five months and my first step is to go over there and visit her and her family and hopefully apply for a three month tourist visa which will give me time to get acquainted with things , I can speak thai reasonably well and have quite a good grasp on the basic sentences and basic conversations and hopefully as I continue learning the language will improve over time . my question is based around if I decide to get married to the lady whilst I am on the three month visitor visa which will hopefully give me enough time to work everything out have a wedding and apply for all of the marriage documentation and get someone to assist me with this process whilst on the 3 month visa . Once this process is completed what would be the next step in arranging to bring my wife out to australia - people have suggested that she might be able to apply for a three month visitor visa where she can stay with me in australia but once the three months is up she will have to return to thailand and await the completion of a ( resident visa - spouse visa ? ) I am not quite sure .

Another question I have is once she has applied and been granted the initial 3 month visitor visa can she return back to thailand and wait for another month and re apply for a second application 3 month visitor visa so whilst we are awaiting for the documents / marriage visa ? to be finalised would she be able to apply for two consecutive visitor visas with a one or two month break inbetween . thanks for any advice

If you mean you plan to get a tourist visa to Thailand, a single entry tourist visa allows for a stay of 60 days and then you can get a 30 day extension of that stay at an immigration office in Thailand.

To allow yourself a bit more time, you could try to get a 2 entry tourist visa which would give you the 60 + 30 days on the first entry, then you would just need to cross a border & return (before the visa expires) to get another 60 + 30 days.

Once this process is completed what would be the next step in arranging to bring my wife out to australia

thanks for the response : just wondering about the process post marriage : If I was to get married in Thailand and then bring the lady back to Australia what would be the best approach and what procedures and paperwork would be required to achieve this - my friend said it could take up to 10 months to process / complete the paperwork but during this time I might be able to bring her over here on a visitor visa for three months and then she could return to Thailand and wait for the process to be completed before moving over here on a permanent basis thnks
