cue a fresh barrage of LFC rumours now we have a "war chest" to spend.

I expect we'd have a couple of deals in the pipeline already, and that should be it!

He signed a four and a half year contract in January. If he goes to City, he's not guaranteed a first team start; he is at Villa. He may be worried about losing his place in the England team. This deal may get resurrected in a year's time. Villa will still get top dollar for him and Delph will get to play in the Euros.

yep could well be the case bung a few quid in 'bonus"s ' as an incentive by villa and you could well be bang on.

Iker Casillas to join Porto from Real Madrid

Porto have agreed a deal to sign Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas from Real Madrid.

Can't be long before de Gea goes to RM and LLoris to Man U wink.png

Manchester United ask for Ramos and Navas in return for their Spanish goalkeeper.

In addition to digging their heels in over the sale of David de Gea, Manchester United have now come up with an impossible counter demand - Sergio Ramos and Keylor Navas in exchange for their Spanish international keeper.

Arsenal have been handed a huge boost in their reported pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain after Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentis reportedly declared that he is ready to cash in on the striker.

The north London side have long been touted as a possible destination for the Argentina forward, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Napoli in recent weeks.

Higuain is believed to be keen on a move away from Napoli after the Italian club’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Now, it looks as if the striker could be on his way out of the club – but only if a potential buyer shells out £64.7m for the player.

De Laurentiis is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “Sell Higuain for €90 million (£64.7m)? I’d like to sell him.

“That way I can buy eight players for the club.”

Don't want him.

I'm not impressed with him either but his stats suggest he's rather good. Strange one.

Higuain has put on weight since his salad days at Real Madrid. I don't think he is as quick as he once was. He is still capable, but seems to miss a lot of easy goals and then makes wonder goals. I wonder if his back surgery a few years ago made a difference. Don't know.

I think Higuain would add something up front (but again only going by his stats - don't think I've watched him play a full game or even half a game since his Real days) and I don't see a lot of talent left on the table. We can guarantee that Arsene won't be paying anything like the money the Napoli guy is shooting his mouth off about - so best guess is it won't happen.

Asmir Begovic has officially completed his transfer to Chelsea – and has subsequently been congratulated across social media on his retirement.

The 28-year-old will take Petr Cech’s place as the club’s no.2 goalkeeper, with Thibaut Courtois establishing a firm stranglehold on the no.1 jersey last season.

For many, the move marks the end of a promising career for the Bosnian, who had arguably hit his peak with Stoke.

Still, he’ll have to be pretty happy with all the good luck messages he’s been receiving.

Uptheos opinion: Liverpool should have tried to get him.

I still say the best (shrewdest) signing so far is Petr Cech......I reckon 5-10 more points on the board.

agree. think if arsenal sign another top player then they're set up for a proper title challenge next season.

Although I fear Wenger is assuming that if he has a full complement of players and isn't ravaged by injuries, he can have a full season like we had from Jan-May.

Personally I think we need another quality striker. One can only hope he has something brewing.

So that's Juve in the market for a striker then.

Juventus have announced the departure of Carlos Tevez to Boca Juniors for a transfer fee of £4.6million.
After months of speculation, the Serie A club officially confirmed Tevez, who had one year remaining on his contract, will be heading back to La Bombonera where he started his career as a teenager.
He joined Juve in 2013 after a seven-year spell in England with West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City which yielded three Premier League titles.

A crowd of about 40,000 in the Bombonera last night for the unveiling of Carlitos. No game...just celebrating his return. Quite a spectacle.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele divides opinion among the club’s fans, with some feeling he deserves more chances to shine and others believing he has had plenty of opportunities and fallen short in that regard.

Earlier this summer it seemed the Belgian international could be heading out of White Hart Lane, with the Independent claiming Chelsea and West Ham United were both prepared to bid for the £12million-rated midfielder; but considering Tottenham’s recent transfer business, could the 27-year-old get one final chance to impress?

After all, fellow midfielders Etienne Capoue and Paulinho have already left Spurs this summer and the London Evening Standard claims Benjamin Stambouli is closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

While Dembele is more of an attacking midfielder, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is not going to completely gut the centre of his side when – up until now – he is yet to reinforce in that area.

Dembele is a wonderful talent who, when on form, can be highly effective. He showed glimpses of that last season and while consistency is still an issue he could yet prove to be a key player for Tottenham next season.

With two midfielders gone and another tipped to follow, a stay of execution could see an upturn in form and fortune for the oft-discussed Belgian.

Would you like to see Dembele remain at Spurs next season?

Monreal deal blocked by Arsenal, Tottenham's Stambouli agrees terms with PSG - Wednesdays top transfer stories

I love it. Invent a fake deal story. Then the next day, when nothing has happened, invent an "Arsenal block deal" story.

cheesy.gif

I think this summer is the worst I've ever encountered. "Liverpool dealt blow as target says he doesn't want to. Play for Liverpool" turns out he says he wants to stay where he is and was never a Liverpool target.

It's not even journalism anymore
