Two Pattaya Police Volunteers wanted for theft and abduction

volunteer-3.jpg

PATTAYA: -- Police are currently searching for two Police Volunteers, who are suspected of theft and abduction in Soi Khopia, South Pattaya in the early hours of Monday.

The alleged crime was reported to Police late on Monday Night by Khun Pongsuk aged 26 and his girlfriend, Khun Gitaya aged 23, who both work in Bars on Walking Street.

Khun Pongsuk had finished work on Monday Morning and stopped at a food stall to purchase fried chicken for his girlfriend when he encountered the two uniformed Police Volunteers, as he drove back with the food to his rented room. The Police Volunteers ordered him to stop but he decided to continue driving to his apartment.

As he parked and jumped off his bike he was ordered to stop by the Police Volunteers, who threatened to shoot him if his did not. At this point he was detained by the two Volunteers and escorted to his room where his Girlfriend was waiting. She was in-shock when she opened the door to the room and was confronted by the two aggressive Police Volunteers who ordered the couple to hand over an IPhone 4 and all the cash they had, which totaled 400 Baht.

They ordered Khun Pongsuk to remain in the room while they took his Girlfriend away, claiming she would be taken to Pattaya Police Station for a drug test.

More bottom of the barrel scum.

It would be a damn shame if they had an "accident" wouldn't it when they do crap like this. the Pattaya vollenter cops I mean.

Are the volunteers Thais or foreigners? Thais, I would presume. Sloppy reporting.

Who is in the picture? Suspect? Victim? Shopper?

They were Thai volunteer cops.

One of photos shows the victim and cops captured by the phone shop CCTV.

Not to self: Don't go to Pattaya.

So were is the picture of the 2 uniformed officers ? Volunteers or real cops or fake ? So he runs from the cops then has a pretty good story of corruption. So now 2 cops on the run for 3000 baht.

Stolen uniforms maybe ?? Threatened to shoot him ??

Even the picture in the pawn shop of the cop shows a smiling woman in yellow next to him. If she is the girlfriend, why is she smiling and seemingly happy? If not the girlfriend, where is she if the cops are in the pawn store? Or is that her leaning on the counter in the above photo? And if so, why isn't she protesting at the pawning of her phone? Dreadful reporting.

And just where is the girl they said they were taking to the station to test for drugs? Has she been heard from since?

When you read something like this :

(quote) Police are currently searching for two Police Volunteers, who are suspected of theft and abduction

... you have to ask yourself : is this place for real ?

... and you have to wonder "should I burst out laughing and get on with my life here or get the hell out of this loony bin asap?"

(I hasten to add that I don't have the answer to the second question. Yet. And Faz - post #6 - if you think this kind of thing can only happen in Pattaya and nowhere else in Thailand, then you need to read and watch the news more often. As it happens, the TVF team seems to enjoy posting news that make Pattaya look even worse than it is - and it's bad enough - but if you read other sources you'll find that the rest of Thailand has its ample share of stories which are just as crazy and mind-boggling).

I don't believe these 2 were police volunteers I think they were a couple of triers posing as volunteer police they need to be caught asap they could go on to bigger things.

I didnt think volunteers carried guns, and I wrong?

I didnt think volunteers carried guns, and I wrong?

A lot of the volunteers around here seem to carry BB guns.

He ran from Tourist Police Volunteers, not police officers. - No right to act without Royal Thai Police, no right to carry guns during their service...

This sounds like someone stole the uniforms and paraded as Volunteer Cops. Farang Volunteer cops are not going to steal a a little money like 400 baht.

Sounds like wolves in sheep's clothing here not real volunteers

Give someone a uniform & they have to go over-the-top !

Guess they're learning from they're full-time buddies !!

And just where is the girl they said they were taking to the station to test for drugs? Has she been heard from since?

Click the link at the bottom of the story and the answers to your questions will be revealed.

An illegal act does not justify another illegal act.

inquiring minds want to know. when the minds gets here.

An off topic post, a slur post and a reply were all removed

Note to you; Thank you!

I thought volunteers could not carry guns, or does that only apply to the foreign police volunteers
