I'm not quite sure how to describe the problem, but my wife has been issued with a UK settlement visa, indicating that she must enter the UK before a certain date.

However a problem has cropped up, as they always do, and we need to delay departure from Thailand by about 2 months without invalidating the visa, if at all possible.

The question is, where and how do I go about doing this ? (assuming the above is comprehensible)

Cheers

It would seem that you would need to apply for a new visa vignette, at a cost of £109, though more from Thailand due to the fact that the UKVI here charge in US$ at a rate to their advantage.

One could be forgiven for thinking that the UKVI haven't really thought this through, though the cynics amongst us could argue that that's exactly what they've done.

Couldn't your wife enter the UK and return to LOS afterwards.

That's is the back up plan, should all else fail, but I'd rather not do that as it would mean a lot of extra expense (tickets etc) and would mean she would have to

travel to the UK alone, navigate the Post Office system to get her B.R.P. alone and then come back to Thailand in order to fly back to the UK again.

Thanks for that, it's more or less the answer I was looking for. It really is pretty daft to only give 30 days.
