Too much bloody water in the Lake!

Wouldn't have happened last year, you could walk across to the other side without getting your knickers wet :o

Seems like a hard place to drown though, no waves, no currents... just float on your back and gently paddle with your feet and you'll be ashore in no time...

Bloke probably had some soothing liquids in him, anyway, RIP

I just watched the Sowang Boryboon (?) divers pull him out :o

I was told (3rd hand) that he was fishing yesterday and somehow got into trouble. He signalled to someone on the bank but by the time they got there he was gone.

I can't work out why it took so long to find him, like Monty said, no waves + no currents.

Sophon Cable TV were there, so we'll know later

Man drowns at the Maprachan Reservoir as he attempts to rescue a stricken remote-controlled boat.

A terrible accident now from the Maprachan Reservoir on the Eastern boundary of Pattaya which left one man dead. Police and rescue workers were called to the area by Khun Niran aged 18 who is a remote-controlled boating enthusiast. On Sunday afternoon he was trying out a newly purchased boat on the reservoir when it suddenly lost power, 50 meters from the shoreline. The problem was that Khun Niran could not swim. Luckily for him, he managed to summon the assistance of Khun Egarak aged 22 who offered to swim out to the boat and rescue the stricken vessel for Khun Niran. As he made his way out to the boat, Khun Egarak got into difficulties and disappeared. Khun Niran helplessly looked on and realized that the man had drowned. After one hour of searching, rescue workers recovered the body of Khun Egarak who Police think suffered cramp as he swum out to the boat. A full post mortem examination is now underway.
