Soi Dao Highland closed for 6 months

Featured Replies

As of next Monday, the 22nd. I am shattered.

Since I started a golfing newbie thread a year and a half ago or so, I played 9 holes walking every week for a year, then I upgraded to 18 half walking, half with a cart, thoroughly enjoying it and getting better. My previous experience was over a dozen or so courses in the Brisbane area maybe played 100 times over 35 years, mainly Gailes and St Lucia. Today I shot an 81, my best score ever and now I cant play for 6 months. The next nearest full course is a long way away unless anyone knows a closer one. I am 25 klicks off Highway 317.

Anyway in case anyone was planning on coming up, don't bother right now. It looks like they are going to make the course a lot harder water hazard wise.

About 4-6 weeks, I thought they were going to renovate the course 9 holes at a time, but they must have decided to bite the bullet and do it all before Korean season. I feel for the caddies they got 5 days notice everyone else retains their employment, if you want to work for the contractor doing the job 270 for men 220 for women.

I took advantage of the fact they were letting us play the front nine twice with buggy for 900 so I did play 18.wai2.gif
