The driver of the Toyota was lucky not to have injured himself and others involved in the collision.

PHUKET: - Three people were taken to hospital yesterday (June 21) when the driver of a Toyota missed the curve near the PTT petrol station in Muang Mai and collided with a pick up truck and a motorbike before crashing into an electricity pylon.

At 10:25am Thalang police were called to a three vehicle accident on the southbound lane of Thepkasattri Rd in front of the PTT petrol station in Baan Muang Mai.

Upon arrival, police found a Toyota smashed into an electricity pylon with its driver, Sarawut Samlee, 25, still inside. Mr Sarawut had only suffered minor injuries but was taken to hospital as a precaution..

Not far away was an Isuzu pick-up truck with damaged rear-end. Its driver, Kritsana Teerasawat, 40, had escaped without an injury.

100 metres down the road was a slightly damaged Yamaha Fino lying in the road. The motorbike driver, Phurida Kitmoh, and her passenger, 15-year-old, Nadia Kitmoh, had both suffered minor injuries and after receiving first aid treatment were taken to Thalang Hospital for further checks.

After questioned those involved, police learned that Mr Sarawut was driving at high speed when he lost control of his vehicle and and crashed into the back of the Isuzu pick-up. The Toyota then spun out of control and hit the motorbike before crashing into the pylon.

Thalang police̕s Lt Wichoti Meepop said that the road was wet at the time of the accident and this may have had some impact on the accident. However, Mr Sarawut and Mr Kritsada will be questioned further before any charges are made.

No idea what sort of Toyota that was but when I do I'll buy one - if you can walk away from a crash like that, most impressive.

Yes... impressive that anyone could survive that sort of wreck. Modern cars are well engineered for survival.

That's the back of the car. I suspect rear passengers wouldn't have done so well. A lot of damage considering the 60kmph there...

Luckily, that's unlikely to be children here in Thailand. They'd have been in the front, standing up, leaning against the dashboard.

I think he was probably slightly mao. What does he tell Daddy? Just another day in Thailanf

And you base that on what? Him being Thai or having an accident?

Make sure you have the right flower garland hanging on the rear view mirror and you'll be right.

Different story to what was quoted in the Nation. It said that the girl on the motorbike came out of the PTT station and fell off the bike causing the pick up to brake heavy.

"Witnesses to the accident saw Ms Nadia fall off her bike after she turned out of the PTT gas station. The pick-up truck driver, who was heading straight, slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting Ms Nadia," said Lt Wichote.
"The car driving behind the pick-up truck crashed into the back of the truck and spun around before colliding with the pole."
All the vehicles, and their drivers, were taken to Thalang Police Station for questioning.
"We must further investigate the circumstances of the accident before charging anyone for the damages," said Lt Wichote.

Expect the one with the most dosh will be saddled with the bill. Good job there wasn't a foreigner involved or it would have been all his fault regardless where he was positioned

Actually - I was involved in a huge accident down south last year and the police never even came and talked to me. I was surprised by how little attention it was given by authorities. I'm a farang btw...
