Favorite Photography YouTube Channel

Featured Replies

I spend a fair amount of time on YouTube studying techniques, theory and camera/lens reviews and this is a list of my favorite channels. Not in any particular order. Let's see who you go to for info.

Jason Lanier - This is a recent find for me and find it entertaining as well as informative. He recently created an uproar in the pro community when he announced why he switched from Nikon to Sony.

Steve Huff

DigitalRev TV - always fun to watch though he can sometimes be a bit of a prat. biggrin.png

Gavin Hoey - more a howto (Photoshop/LR) rather than reviewer channel

David Thorpe

Blunty DigiDIRECT - Though a more general purpose technology channel he has a photography specific channel.

Robert Pugh

TheCameraStoreTV - one of my favorite reviewers.

Adorama TV - good channel on howto and tips&tricks.

Chris Winter's list of his top 10.

Good idea Tywais!

I also have watched Adorama TV but actually prefer the B&H Videos more:

I forgot about them, I also watch them on occasion. At first I had concerns of conflict of interest and bias due to being a commercial seller of the equipment but doesn't seem that is the case.

For me I check YT occasionally andthe ones I watch are

already listed by Tywais & Fiddlestix...but here's one guy

I like too as I a Nikon person...

Kind of misread the post there.

The main places I visit are or look at on YT in no particular order

Matt Grangers Petapixel.com website and YT channel

Ken Wheeler - "The angry photographer" does videos daily he also has a website under construction (may or may not come to fruition).

Fstoppers.com has lots of videos https://fstoppers.com/category/video

Phlearn.com has some good photoshop tutorials on youtube...If you do female portraits definitely check out the video on "frequency separation" retouching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldhG9fmgC7o

and also the Blend If function to enhance lighting on your subject...it can be used to good effect to tame nasty hard flash

yep . . best (Nikon) dude on YT bar none. Also PhotoRec Toby is cool too, as is Tony Northrup (although he does come over a bit snooty at times, but he's generally ok)
