Will DTAC internet work on train from BKK to CM?

Featured Replies

I'm going to head up to CM soon, and I'll get a train if I can access the Internet on the journey.

Does anyone know if this will be possible?

There probably will be dead areas. The northern provinces don't have the coverage Bangkok has.

Not so sure you have a good data signal in a coach either. I've had problems making voice calls to someone using DTAC and riding a train before. Especially commuting to Bangkok.

It's been several years since I did that train journey, but even then internet (Dtac) was available. The signal wasn't always very strong, 3G wasn't always available, and it did drop out altogether on occasion. Probably doesn't help you much but access was available then and it's likely to be the same or better now.

Kick back and chillax.

Enjoy the ride without interruption.

I managed quite well on a coach to Mai Sai and that was some years ago.

There will be network coverage everywhere except the most rural and hilly areas.

A dual SIM phone (2 networks) would provide even better coverage.

Have a little sleep, life can wait.

Kick back and chillax.

Enjoy the ride without interruption.

Seems not to answer his question.

I did the train CM-BKK 12 months ago and had Dtac 3G just about the whole way.
