Only if suffering from dementia would a Nobel winner live in CM. Those types of guys/gals usually like to use the brain but that function not very available in T'land.

Well just reading your opinions of our lovely city, as well as your thoughts on our fellow residents,........ well I just have to ask,,,,,, please forgive me, but is your real name Donald Trump ????

It's a highly politicized "prize" many times presented to the latest glamorous happy face and has lost a lot of prestige over time..... But gained in marketability.....

Usually those folks are not habituating places like - or akin to CM....

They more to gravitate toward more profitable locales.....Whether for funding or academic pursuits.....Places where they "run" into more opportunities.....

CM might not be a sexily - stimulating destination for them....

We're at more the Ted Talk audience level.....

Meaning of the Nobel Peace Prize particularly debased. Given to the likes of Kissinger, who is seen by many as a true ghoul of the 20th century. Obama, before even having a chance to do anything.

Agree about Obama. Seems was based on his skin color and his campaign promises. Weird. But the Nobel prizes, all, are judgmental, more or less. It's not a sporting contest.

Let's hope and pray W, Cheney and Rumsfeld are not chosen for the 'Peace Prize'. Even i would then throw stones at the Norwegians.

He does seem to be choosing to live in a place he doesn't like. I guess that would put him on a par with Donald Trump

Gonzo I thought you had one for host of the year. wai.gif

Actually I can't see one of them retiring completely and isolating them selves from what ever field it is in. I think they all like to keep their hand in.

As it is highly political (my deserving father wasn't awarded one because he refused to play the game) maybe this is a good place for laureates as it's a Mecca of form over function.

I seem to remember one winner living in Calcutta.

So you are saying if one moves to CM their brain function is reduced? is that what happened to you?

Yes, Obama involved in wars in Iraq & Afghanistan gets the Nobel Peace Prize. Guess bombing the crap out of people including civilians is OK if they are on the Nobel free to bomb list. Let's hope Thailand is never added...

Sorry, but some body parts trump the brain, even for Nobel types.

Try honest. He inherited them and put an end to them.

Unfortunately the whole infrastructure had been destroyed by the previous administration.

Both those posts are honest.

You're half right... Obama did inherit them; but he hasn't put an end to either one of them.

I think you have created the perfect marketing plan John. You can now advertise a free Superman breakfast for any Nobel Laureate that buys a cup of coffee. Probably never cost you a penny, yet almost assuredly world wide publicity for the Pun Pun.
