rocketboybkk Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 How much are you being asked for? Let's start from there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
rgs2001uk Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 How deep will they be, cost in Bkk is 1000 baht per metre,eg ,piling will cost 20k baht per metre, so 20 metre piling will cost 20k baht. Who told you need pilings? On rice farm, LOL, has planning permission been granted at the local land office, if so , who signed off on it? What plans were submitted?

sipi Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 The wife tells me 1000b for the shorter outside ones and a bit more for the longer central ones (approx). Total around $300US for 9.
kannot Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Shes talking about the concrete pre cast columns which is 100% normal its NOT pilings, just buy em if shes a half decent Wife These are dropped into the ground maybe 60cm if youre lucky Tells us how long the short ones are and Ill tell you how much they should be.
sipi Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 The wife tells me 1000b for the shorter outside ones and a bit more for the longer central ones (approx). Total around $300US for 9. Yes the pre-cast ones. The building supplier will give a receipt.
beachproperty Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Had 10 pilings (1 meter holes formed with bore machine, steel placed, and concrete pored in) to a depth of 9 meters for a 3 story building in Rayong. Total cost was 120,000 Baht.

Not to be confused with piles which need medication
casualbiker Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Going on the initial story. He was saying the house is being built on reclaimed rice paddy, 2 rainy seasons since the fill.. That's probably going to need piles or at least digging down to the original hardpack earth. No?
sipi Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Normally they only go down about 600mm even on filled land. The poles have a broad base (maybe 450mm square) and everything locks together.
eyecatcher Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Those concrete posts 150x150 are so cheap is ridiculous and for a very simple basic structure they are perfectly adequate. As a comparison. Lets say you get some labour and want to dig a foundation pit and then erect your concrete columns traditionally with reinforcement and shutters. For this example I will work on 16 columns to give a reasonable average. Concrete to pads say 5m3 at 2100bt=10500 Reinforcement to pads and stems 350m at 21bt 7350 Concrete to sub floor stems 1m3= 2100 16 columns at 200x200 and 2.6m high is 1.75m3 concrete=3675bt Shutters to rent will cost 64no x 3bt a day…say 200bt a day for 3 days=600bt 170m of 12mm rebar at 21bt/m=3570 275 links at 4bt =1100bt Total 29,000bt /16 columns = 1800bt each Ok based on 16 that should give you an idea per column traditionally. To do the above would take a team of 3 about 10 days. 30man days say 500bt because you are jai dee.=15000bt. That’s 900bt per column. So we have established a more robust approach each column will cost about 2700bt each You can buy the 150 columns and to be honest that’s the easiest and quickest way to go.
rocketboybkk Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 When I had a house built they said we dig down 600mm & put in concrete posts. I said no thanks, you dig down 1000mm & put on concrete posts reinforced with steel. The footings are what gives stability & a the foundations for life Don't scrimp on this process or try to be a cheap Charlie. Dig die at least 1000mm, more if you or your architect think necessary Once the house starts moving the builders may return but the damage is done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
rgs2001uk Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Theres a reason why the Thais build Thai style houses in paddy fields, why the farangs never learn and want to build a farang macmansion is beyond me.

As far as the concrete posts, he made his own. In the final pic, the steel framing for the roof is being set in place.
