LarryLEB
Is there a secret recipe in Pats, superb cakes with loads of cream? Secret Recipe is on the fifth floor at Central Festival, Pattaya, near the Beach Road end of the building (opposite Swensen's).

Jingthing
The deed is done. Pre- birthday. Now I won't spoil my regular eating then. It was glorious. New Zealand Natural 3 scoops. Afogato which is vanilla bean with espresso fudge Mint chocolate chip Macademia nut crunch 1 scoop was free. You're crazy if you think Buds is as good as NZ natural. Got it all. High lux creamy ice cream. Chocolate. Multiple crunching. Looked at that fudge place. It did not appeal. I couldn't find a cake I was sure about at Pan Pan but the durian ice cream tempted. No more desserts for me for a very long time.

A real connoisseur knows mint is not ingredient for ice cream, and everybody knows chocolate ice cream is the boring of all ice creams. But mix mint and chocolate, and you get true disaster, but very Walmart, very American! Next.
Jingthing
You're being funny. Ha ha. I didn't have any chocolate ice cream. I agree mint chocolate chip is a retro flavor reminding of American childhood. 1 out of 3. The actual flavor there is actually Mint Chocolate KISSES Mint Choc Kisses. Choc peppermint cups and choc chips in a sea of mint ice cream http://www.ourawesomeplanet.com/awesome/2012/11/new-zealand-ice-cream.html I think Buds and NZ are priced similarly in Thailand. LarryLEB
Jingthing, to repeat my earlier post: "Ben and Jerry's is available at Villa = 100% certain." I was at Villa one hour ago (5:00pm, Friday, 14 August). Look in the freezer unit opposite the cheeses. The flavours in stock are: Cherry Garcia Cheesecake and Brownie New York Super Fudge Chunk Chunky Monkey Phish Food Half Baked Peanut Butter Cup Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake Vanilla Chocolate Fudge Brownie 299Baht for one pint (473ml). You cannot be much of a Ben and Jerry's aficionado if you couldn't be bothered to check in the freezer units section of the store! Jingthing
The thing about BJ is that I associate that brand with buying and eating a pint and I didn't really want to go there anyway. Thanks anyway for the current info for the readers.

balo
Why would anyone buy fake ice cream anyway . Are you aware of how many chemicals they use in ice cream ? Natural flavour is just another additive . NZ I think use real fruits and real vanilla bean in their ice cream. Why not buy your own ice cream machine for 10000 baht and make your own delicious homemade icecream. Add yoghurt and all that good stuff in it. tropo
I dream of a posh restaurant where they wheel up the sweet trolley to chose from, and come back to ask if you want more... Understood. It can be hard to pick just one. I'll break the rules here a bit. If I was to eat dessert once a year I'd head for the Hilton buffet and hit it at 6pm before anyone has defiled it, and just hit the dessert counter - HARD!... and add fresh cream to everything! gk10002000
The banana roti crepes thing the street vendors make, but without the egg. Plain and simple. Kind of hard to find in your average restaurant though. One of the restaurants in the middle of Jomtien has it but I can't recall the name. One of the bigger ground floor places, open air to the beach front.
