ppened to the First Car Tax Rebate Scheme? Was it just suddenly dropped half-way through? I know someone who bought a car in Oct 2012 ans received a 50% of the tax rebate about Nov 2013, after that NOTHING! Was it stopped?

The only change to the first car buyer's scheme is that they have now put a deadline on when you have to take delivery of the car.. If your friend took delivery in Oct 2012, this doesn't effect them at all though.

I have never heard of anyone only receiving 50% of their rebate. Can you supply details on make, model, retail value of the car, and the amount of rebate that has already been paid?

I suspect the car they bought was one of the many that wasn't eligible for the full 100K amount maximum rebate under the scheme... Even though it had a 100K ceiilng, there were cars that were actually only eligible for a 10K rebate, for example, as that's all the excise tax they attracted.
