"said such an attack was beyond ordinary people",is that the same people

who used hand grenades and RPG s on many occasions in the past,Oh,

and don't forget the arson, they have to be at least suspect due to a violent past.

regards worgeordie

so , "who used hand grenades and RPG s on many occasions in the past" ??? isn't army who are the most able to handle this kind of things ? so must we accuse the army for this crime ??????

It's not about the ability. It's about real use against peaceful people.

I have wasted enough time correcting guys like you. I won't do it again. If interested you can go through my posting history. Dozens of post related to red/black shirt violence and killings.

It isn't an opinion. it's a BBC witness. just like this one :

"Paul told the BBC he had been in a crowd of protesters when he saw a man of about 50 being shot in the chest as he waved a flag from a pick-up truck."... men in black.... men in black...

Or Fabio Polenghi an Italian Journalist who was shot DEAD in the back while running away.. men in black... men in black... except it has since been proven and ruled by the criminal court that he was shot by an army high velocity bullet coming from where the army was stationed. Wearing journalist vest and arm band, moving and shot in the BACK.

Did you correct that?

You see when someone has the means to pursue a proper investigation we find out it wasn't the evil red shirts or men in black who shot but oddly enough we don't hear much about it whistling.gif

You are right about one thing it isn't the place, then again I'm not the one who brought it up.

Many red/black shirts had war weapons and used it to kill people. This is proven. They were violent and had no problem burning down buildings. Which is proven too. Therefore they could have done this too (don't say they did). So what was your point again?

Oh yes I remember what your point was. It's the army's fault... Not their leaders or Thaksin who have openly stated that the red shirts should fight the army. Remember Thaksin's famous words.. Start fighting with the army. I am very near to Thailand and can be there any moment to help you. Pfff

"The leader of Thailand's main opposition party has denied ..."

Surely the "Opposition Party" should be the Democrats? They've been the Opposition party for most of the last 15 years.

Puea Thai should be termed "the deposed government party".

at this point in time there is NO opposition party.

Junta rules.

No, ordering the throwing of a hundred thousand Molotov cocktails at buildings across BKK and TV/radio stations and Provincial halls is more Mr Prompan's modus operandi. Can leave the pipe bombs, ping-pong bombs and grenades to people like Gen Khattiya, Uncle Samai and the mysterious "men in black" protectors of the Red movement, rather than "ordinary people", eh? Now how many of those Red paramilitary accomplices were ever arrested and charged? whistling.gif

haven't you heard of paramilitary ex police/army of Suthep and yellow shirts, have you ?

about the men in black specially , it seems that you are confused a bit... this is a bit off topic so, ..

Oh, I don't doubt for a minute that there were some paramilitary types protecting Suthep's movement too, as is well documented. But in 2010, at the height of the political violence, the main body of black-suited or camouflaged paramilitaries on the streets had Red sympathies. Some were openly being commanded by Gen Khattiya (Seh Daeng) and can be seen on any number of news links protecting the Redshirts. Seh Daeng and Samai (blew himself and 3 other Redshirts with a homemade pipe bomb) met their makers, but the rest of the crew are still out there, with their bomb making, laying, detonating, throwing and even dancing, experience, willing and ready to cause mayhem at the beck and call of their demagogue hero. And funnily enough, that same hero just happens to have his back up against a wall with the threat of having his police rank being stripped, a new court case in the offing and political reform process further reducing the likelihood of his political comeback, so has every reason to strike back at this moment in time.

So, this could all be coincidental and it might be a crazed Uighur or Rohingya behind this cowardly attack, but frankly, other options just don't stack up.

Huh?!?

You have comprehension problems.

The whole point is that the situation was very different from simple terrorism. But you're not interested in that, you just want everything to fit in your ultra-bias agenda.

Again, I'm not sure you comprehend anything.

THIS thread is about terrorism. The whole conversation is about yesterday's bombing.... terrorism.

Also, I quoted your whole post, there's a limit on quotes to make this forum readable, if I didn't do that we'd already be way over the limit.

There is and will be many more accusations by the authorities, more people will be interrogated and more than likely someone eventually fitted for the crime. However, it is starting to look more like a false flag event than anything else. The timing of the attack, the strange comments and the actions by the administration, the reluctance to except the expertise offered by other countries or agencies and no results in solving the recent bombings before this is testament to this.

We live in a time which could be called the Grand Deception. A time when government, media and law enforcement work in unison to deceive the citizen masses through means of false flags, blatant lies and just good old fashion treachery.

correction: deposed corrupt party.

Please stop bringing your political bias into this discussion. It is childish and gets very boring. Try holding a sensible discussion instead without name-calling.

I trust your sentiments for the removal of political bias trust to the poster the one you replied to was replying to as well?

Where is the name calling in either post?

Cut that selective nonsense. Taking things out of the context doesn't mean you're right. It means you're deluding yourself into believing in something which is simply not true. The side you keep making excuses for at every corner started the vicious circle of violence. Read through all of it and finally learn something about Thailand.

Of course it's selective, that's the whole point, that the situation can't be summarized to good guys vs bad guys or compared to a terrorist act.

The fact you need a 151 page doc to explain it only further proves it.

But since you like Human Right Watch maybe you should read it yourself : "Human Rights Watch’s May 2011 report “Descent into Chaos” concluded that the military used excessive and unnecessary lethal force." "“Despite well-documented atrocities that took place in the full view of cameras and witnesses, no Thai soldier or official has been held accountable,” said Brad Adams, Asia director at Human Rights Watch."

On reading this thread it is pretty clear that discussing politics on here is pointless. You all have some point to make and think that you amount of time living etc makes you more of an expert. It is also pretty clear that many of you have no real interaction with Thais. I will leave you to argue over your petty points whilst continuing your total miscomprehension of everything that is happening in this country.

What strange childish comments you make, if you read my post in its entirety instead of trolling, you would see I have given reasons why it could be a false flag. On the other hand, neither you, the authorities or administration have offered anything other than conflicting, misleading and dumb quotes. Here is a classic example by the PM - Police working on the Erawan shrine blast should watch the American crime series Blue Bloods for leads, says Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. "Police investigators, especially the national police chiefs... He went on to say, "Though our officers may not be as capable as those in the series, we are good in our own league,"

If you cannot be more constructive in your comments and show a little mature intellect, I suggest you crawl back under your rock.

What - Wait - Prayut said that?!

Holy mackerel!

Next, the General will be ordering the deployment of the GT200 divining bomb detectors from the Army warehouse.

Jatuporn and Thaksin have shown on many occasions they are just as capable as lying when it suits or instigating violence.

Whether they are involved isn't known, and neither is whether it's a false flag, ISIS, or any one else yet.

If you can't help but post crude anti Junta pro-Thaksin comments supported by nothing substantial then you must expect responses.

I myself believe that the easiest of all options here is to blame the red shirts, and that way it does keep everything "internal" if there was the remotest possibility of tourism being impacted through an overseas terror cell operating in Thailand, the lid is harder to keep on the bigger picture.

I'm also noticing a pattern developing here too, and I'm not a spotty faced teenager who sifts through war movies, I study terrorism for a reason, as it has a profound effect on my job and line of work, I've seen it up close and personal, have lost over 20 good friends to acts of terrorism in the past 11 years, have fought against them toe to toe, from the streets of Northern Ireland to the shitty backwater streets all over Iraq, and they're all the same, nothing but scum, but scum that's never to be underestimated, which seems to be pretty much a Thai way of looking at them.

The pattern I'm beginning to see is that when things get a bit hot under the collar for certain Junta members, and public opinions are beginning to stray from their way of "resistance is futile" there is an incident that suddenly occurs, normally it's followed by an announcement that the situation within the country is not stable enough to allow such a meaningless thing such as democracy to move forwards, over the past few weeks, we've had stories about in house fighting with regards to the new charter, the economy, reformations of the Police, then the Junta putting pressure on the police over issues that really should be the lowest priority in their "reformation". We've also had Suthep rear his ugly head again, citing it was not a political institution he was setting up, and you had the PM pretty much give this man his blessing.

Then out of nowhere an incident occurs, the pipe bombs at Siam Paragon (same devices used at Erawan by the way), the grenade attack at night on an empty court house, the Samui car park bomb, all of which the fingers and evidence trail is quickly pointed towards the Red, and of course, no real evidence is ever really presented, just mere hearsay, a few token comments about all orchestrated through "Line" and "facebook pages" and it does what it always does, dissapears and nobody really cares about the follow up as it's purely for domestic consumption, and these investigations die off like a tropical storm.

Then you have the farangs here who wish more than anything for this to be Thaksin and his gang, as they have a 100% blinkered hatred for the guy and pretty much most of it deserved, as again, it's aother nail in his coffin... errm no it isn't, this is a man who could buy a Premiership football team, why would he piss about with trivial attacks, trying to make the Junta look foolish? He knows that the longer the reds are implicated, the less the chances are of his party and followers have of getting back to the trough, so really, is it in Thaksin's interest to start killing and maiming tourists? Logically, you Red shirt haters, why can't you see that continuing red shirt violence only consolidates the Juntas power, and worse, it then isolates the red shirts even further from any form of reconcilliation. So I ask you, what's there to gain politically by such an act as the Erwan shrine attack?

I have always been highly suspicious of the Junta, and many here know why I believe they simply have to be in power for the forseeable future, there's a much bigger incident going to happen in Thailand that will be worse than any terrorist attack, regardless, and Thais are nowhere near ready for that. I also believe that everything within the Junta is far from Rosy, they are foundering over lots of issues, and in the coming weeks the ICOA will be back to give their verdict on Thai Airlines, which could have a huge impact on the only thing they can put a positve spin on.... that is Tourism.

Are the Junta capable of false flag operations, of course they are, they're capable of staging coups are they not? whilst I don't believe in this case it's a false flag op, however, the easiest solution is to point fingers at your nearest political enemy, and blame them. I don't have a problem with that, but if you're going to accuse any red shirt element, back it up with substantial evidence, face book pages, and line chats are from from substantial. All of these red shirts they've had in custody over the incidents mentioned within, have not given any single Intelligence worth while to the authorities, no paper trail, no money transaction codes, everything is done via "line" because that's all the public are told, they're only being told what they want to hear.

I have my doubts as to whether this was a red shirt op, if they really wanted to hit the Junta's much vaunted "tourism" as claimed, then multiple targets, over multiple tourist destinations would be the way to do it. If the reds really wanted to hit hard, they could do so, but I honestly believe that it really isn't in their interests right now, and totally counter productive.

Right now, I'd much prefer to keep my options open as to whom is behind this attack,

In reference to your curt tin hat comment, I encourage you to learn what Albert Einstein once said; "Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance"

I will also leave you with the following -

Conspiracy Theory: It’s a term used by many to brush off something that clashes with what they believe in, or have believed in for a long period of time. Taking in new information that runs counter to a current belief system is not easy and can cause the feeling of cognitive dissonance – a term used in modern psychology to describe the feeling of discomfort that arises from being confronted with two or more conflicting ideas, beliefs, or values. It suggests that we have an inner drive to hold onto all of our beliefs and attitudes, avoiding the feelings of discomfort and instability that accompany new ideas, regardless of whether those ideas are backed by evidence and sound logic.

Why do we always believe, without consideration, what is presented to us through mainstream sources? Why do we hold it to be true, without question? Why is it so common for many of us to not even acknowledge, listen, or look at evidence which runs counter to the accepted ideology? To ignore available information which presents an alternative to what is so commonly believed by many – or what we ourselves believe can place the human race in a very vulnerable, gullible state. Even if there is an overwhelming amount of evidence, many find it easy to dismiss.

It’s unfortunate that our world has been riddled with lies, misinformation, and fraud. It’s no secret that if you tell a lie long enough, it becomes the truth.

the reds are more than capable of killing innocent people as we saw last year when they used grenades to kill children on 2 separate occasions and then the ptp and reds all cheered this fact at a red get together but this time it is different. While I have little trust in anything the reds or their compatriots say this does not look like one of their terrorist acts, they are usually not well planned and performed by idiots , this was well planned and done in a very controlled manor. A red would not have simply got up and walked slowly away under full control of what they were doing, with only 1 minute till the explosion, they would have ran. At this stage it would be impossible to pin it on any one group unless they can get hold of the one that did it or one of the accomplices and until such time this is going to be simply hearsay and innuendo as the different supporters try to point the finger at each other.

Fat has got it right, no one can point the finger as they have no idea who did it but they can try to suggest their opposition in the hope to gain some better footholds. Much better for everyone to wait till there is definite evidence before starting all the sh*tfights.

Why is Sky News interview this thug - particularly when their paying master is top of the suspect list ?. It stinks.

I wonder if the interviewer reminded Jatuporn about people firing grenades into crowds of civilians and killing 30 people - including several children - in the process.

Why do I think not ?.

I reckon this is above Jatty's pay grade and he knows nothing about it. Just the very select trusted circle.

On another matter, anyone know if Chalerm has been away for a break recently ?.

The Red Shirts weren't involved in this. I'd believe the Junta directed the bombing to secure its own power before I'd believe any Red Shirt involvement.

Although in its barbarity and mass targeting of civilians it would seem a massive step in the wrong direction, i definitely would not rule it out. In any political movement there will always be those who would/can go the extra mile which the vast majority of sympathisers would also deplore.
