Great Things About Phuket

You know, from negative stories to idiots posting rumours about bombs at Tesco ( :o ), lets talk about the good stuff here. I have lived here for 5 years and am always discovering new eating places, beaches and great street food. (Somtam is better over there, and I go!). Know what I mean?

Please add your own list.

1. Beaches. Yeah, Patong sucks, but Nai Harn, Nai Yang are I think two of the best as well as the uncrowded and very long beaches of Kata / Karon.

2. Repeating my other posts, a bit of home. Subway sandwiches.

3. Great movie theatres at Central. VIP seats. YEAH! Great for fat bastards like me, and that big fat ass mama that came with you on your holiday! :D

4. Weekend market and fantastic 20 Baht keebabs with large chunks of meat just before Central coming from Chalong. Last traffic light before Central, T section, turn right and it is to your right. (Never good with road names).

5. I am married, yeah, I know, it sucks. But I love her. Anyway, beautiful women are everywhere. Candy for my eyes and mine makes toast and tea for me every morning.

6. Tops at Central. Expensive as hel_l for expats. But where else can you buy Taco shells and sauces, REAL thick sour cream, imported Gimchi and Mr. Donut right next door!

I love Rawai beach for lunch. I usually go to Baan Had Rawai and sit and have a great meal and look at the islands. Beautiful.

The vegetarian stall in the food court at Central. 30 baht for all you can eat. I am not a vegetarian but I love their food.

I live down in the south and I love that I can get most things locally. My veggie lady is great, the bakery is fab and the chicken and sticky rice lady has been in the same spot for the last 7 years and her food is good.

Just a few I can think of quickly.

Laem Singh Beach! Hard to get down to but GREAT .... nicest beach on the island!

The traditional openair eateries in the old district of Phukettown.

Great fun roads to ride the motorcycle on!

Calm quiet neighbors and no soi dogs! <in my village>

Something for everyone all over!

Even now after being here for some time ....

I'm driving from Patong to Karon look across and see the Andaman Sea, Blue Skys, Sunshine , Plenty of eye candy. Sometimes I have to pinch myself and ask "How the hel_l did I end up here?"

And to think what I used to think was fun :D

OOhh how I miss The U.K. :o
