Can You Use Rabbit Ears On Flat Sceen TVs?

Featured Replies

The leader of the opposition's old TV in the kitchen has ceased to function. In order to avoid me having to watch Thai soapies an immediate replacement is needed. However there is no cable outlet in the kitchen and the old rabbit ears will be needed again. Can anyone please tell me if you can use an indoor aerial with a modern flatscreen.

You need digital tuner in TV for future - and yes they can be used with simple antennas if in city areas.

Antenna is for the frequency - no difference if digital or analog - but you need UHF antenna rather than the old VHF which basic television channels used to use. Most TV antennas made this century have UHF ability (the part between the ears) but as that is all you need now a dedicated UHF antenna would be best. But digital will either be good or gone so indoor antenna in good signal areas should work much better than for the old analog broadcasts where you noticed the quality change with someone walking in front of the path.

So yes outside antenna is always the goal - but in many cases will not be required.

300 bt uhf/digital antenna placed in ceiling cavity, under steel and concrete roof, pulls in 32 channels with crystal clarity! Small indoor desk stand models about size of a paperback also available.

Can you use rabbit ears on a flat screen TV? No. My rabbit ears keep falling off the top of the TV as it is too thin!
