I think the picture quality is more down to the cameras being just colour. Most, well all the security work I have dealt with has used dual colour / black and white. The Black and White is for night and low light level usage.

Well, the cameras need to be waterproof and withstand possible hurricanes. Also 3D HD quality do cost a lot of money. We'll find out next year when all the bad guys will be shown on 3D TV and will be easy to identify.

I hope they preserve one camera for the new corruption museum.
