PATTAYA: -- Just after daybreak on Saturday over 30 Police Officers from Chonburi and Pattaya conducted a raid of a late night Pub in South Pattaya.

Officers converged on the “Take Me Out” Pub located behind the Tuk Com IT Center in South Pattaya just after 6am. Over 100 customers and staff were inside and alcoholic beverages were being sold and consumed.

Checks on the customers took place including ID checks and drug tests and nothing irregular was found. However, when Police checked for licenses, the Pub appeared to be unlicensed.

Naughty people out late enjoying themselves.

Lock them up and through away the key.

disgraceful people.

The people enjoying themselves weren't naughty as they were of legal age and drug free (according to the report). It's the venue owners who are "naughty" for being unlicensed.

Perhaps when they have finished in South Pattaya the BIB will do the same to the unnecessarily loud, sleazy (almost certainly unlicensed) joints prevalent in North Pattaya.

Is there a licence for sleaze?

Check them for fire hazards, separate exit doors, unlocked, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems and video cameras.

That would be so good if that was what these raids were about

Just what is it that upsets posters regarding this article ?

A un-licenced pub operating beyond legal times gets raided.

That all seems like very normal police procedure to me and underlying reasons for it seem clear.

Police CLUE

Check for license BEFORE raid. It should be on file.

Maybe in your country but this is Thaiand. I would say another good job by the Pattaya police. Laws are there to be followed.

If you're claiming it was an ironic comment I suggest it's you that needs the English lesson.

Are you mad! They don't care about that, unlicensed probably means off the grid. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

All in all, good for the Thai five-o.

Would love to know how long such a business can openly/publicly run without license (as supposed)?

Just compare with your home country.

Indeed. Thailand is certainly not like my home country! One would think that after the Santika fire, licensing would be taken more seriously. Oh well, maybe this is a start sad.png
