Electricity Meter Not Moving

Featured Replies

i have recently noticed that my electricity meter is not moving for the new house that i have just moved into, although the free electricity would be great i am wondering if i should notify the MEA or if i just kept quiet could there be any comeback on me, possible to play dumb when they do find out etc.?

thanks in advance

Before you report it:-

  1. Ensure it is actually your meter :)
  2. Turn everything on you can (A/C and water heaters), the large load may free the beast up.

If you don't score with getting it to free up do report it, if MEA suss that you're getting free power they will (over) estimate your usage and send a bill.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Forget the MEA - I'll send my guys around to exchange it for free :P

If they are like the water meters they usually move at night, with the help of a couple of guys on motorbikes.

Turning everything on at the same time at a Thai electric system is brave......

Give it a couple good whacks, that should dislodge the pin the last owner put in to stop it rotating.
