I carry a copy of my current passport, 90 day, yellow book, and a Thai driver license that matches the address on my yellow book.

I can go back to Ontario and get the same impression, particularly when police ask for identification. Sometimes even worse than here and for no good reason

Copy of all relevant passport pages kept in car with copy blue book and original insurance document and my thai DL is enough been stopped 5 times on route from pattaya to khon kaen and visa versa (driving) each time very polite police have accepted thai DL no problem never asked for passport and I've never offered it to them.
