Canuck looking for rental apt/condo in Phuket for Jan Feb & March

Hello all,

I'm trying snowbirding this winter and would like to visit Thailand instead of Mexico. I think the Phuket area would be more appropriate for me than say a large city like BKK. A hammock, a beach, and a cold one sound about right for me.

Would prefer a non-smoking one bedroom with at least access to a pool. I have never been there so don't know the areas but was thinking of the Nai Harn area as it is supposed to be fairly quiet. I don't want to be in the center of a party hearty strip but if I was a kilometer or two off of one - I could live with that. I do plan on renting a scooter for the three months to explore as much as feasible.

I am roughly planning on arriving at HKT around Jan 2 and getting a hotel for a week, then taking a look around. Any suggestions as to area / pricing and even suggestions concerning an agent to assist would be greatly appreciated.

Other than flying in to HKT and flying out around the end of March, nothing is written in stone.
