My new Visa handler has today informed me that to enter laos you now need to have a Police check document with you

Its needed even if you need to do a quick in and out the next day

I was told this just went into prcatice very recently....

I think that is false info. Got an email from a visa run company yesterday that took 200 people to Vientiane for visas and with no mention of that being needed.

Perhaps confusion with info that the embassy Vientiane is asking for a police clearance certificate to get a non-b visa for teaching.

I think you need to find a different visa handler.

This past week 5 non Thais including myself received Lao visas through a tour company for a van tour of Southern Laos later this month. The tour operator didn't require a police check to obtain the visas or tell us we needed one to enter.

He's a long time friend of my Thai family specialising in tours through Laos. As far as he's concerned it's business as usual.

Visa handler.......now that's a new term. Was he going to organize the police check for you......fee of course,?
