It's Phanom Dom Rak, and it's inbetween Kap Choeng and Ta Muang along the 224 highway. It's not just a village, it's an Ampeuar(district).

Hi Nevada and Lampard,

A little more info (grist for the mill) The village/very small town of Phanom Dong Rak ( newly named) is to be found 3km south of the 2121 or 4 km east of the 2407 (both about 10 km west of the 214). The map coordinates :- 14 degrees 26'11.29" North x 103 degrees 18' 34.96" East.

About 3 km from the Cambodian border (was land mined during Kermer Rouge activities) Postal code 32130. Nearest centre of any size is Prasat 37km with Surin about 60 km Phanom_Dongrak.jpg.kmzfrom PDR.

The district (Amphoe) of Phanom Dong Rak adjoins the district of Kap Choeng to its east.

The district is in the Changwat (Province) of Surin.

Both the village and the district take their name from the Phanom Dong Rak which is the name of the mountain range which forms the border between Northern Cambodia and Thailand.

The name means something like "lovely jungle mountains - the mountains people love".
