30 day extension or make a trip

Featured Replies

I will be in KKaen when my current extension of stay expires on my Non O (Retirement). I need the cert of funds from the US Embassy but I will have to make a 1-2 day trip to Bangkok OR I noticed the ACS outreach will be in town a few days after my extension expires. 1. What docs do I need to get a 30 day extension from IMO KK, which allows me to get the funds cert from the visiting team? Or 2. Is it advisable to just bite the bullet and go to Bangkok ahead? I am apprehensive about cutting things too close due to slow approval of extension request, etc.

Thanks in advance,

The most you will get from Immigration is 7 days.

Unless you have a Thai Wife (which I think you do) you will get 60 days.

Take Wife, Tessien Baan, Her ID Card and Marriage Certificate.

When is your extension due?. The next outreach in KK is not until February. There is one in Udon Thani on October 16th.

Immigration will accept an income affidavit that is up to 6 months old. You could get yours in Udon instead of getting an extension.

Until they made the 6 months rule official I was making special trips to Bangkok to get mine. The past 2 years have done mine when was on a holiday with my family. I used one that was 4 months old this year.
