ZuluSixNine
"The police chief said that .... the suspect had confessed to his role without being tortured...." That's really decent of them. The quote was taken out of context and the thai translation wasn't the best, so the actual quote was, "the suspect had confessed to his role without being tortured much"
off road pat
"The police chief said that .... the suspect had confessed to his role without being tortured...." That's really decent of them. So,...?? ..We might conclude that everybody ells that confesses to a crime has been tortured ????

I have often wondered about countries like Thailand that get so many suspects to confess. The police must possess excellent conversational skills. hawksway
Take your choice - take a breath of Bangkok fresh air or get stitched up. Just confess to avoid the death penalty, guilty or not!
The Deerhunter
I have completely lost track now. It seems every day they are saying something new/different. You think you are confused and you are not even a policeman!!!
smutcakes
I see in one paper they are doing another on site re-enactment this afternoon. Why oh why do they do them, and especially on a Saturday afternoon at the busiest possible time. Thank God i am not in the car!

lvr181
So I guess this means that it will trial be a military court with no appeals.....and possibly, no defence. What ever we think about the idea of the system, that is the way it is at present and we ain't gonna change that! The positive side is that other criminals might get the idea of how the "system" operates and that may dissuade them and their accomplices?
