Intelligence officer and friend gunned down in South
The Nation

YALA: -- ARMED men opened fire on a pickup in Yala's Raman district on Saturday night, killing an intelligence officer with the 15th Infantry Division and his friend, police said.

Pol Colonel Wanchai Jindawan, a duty officer at Raman Police Station, said yesterday the incident occurred at about 7pm on a road near Buenako village in Tambon Balo.

He said Sergeant Muhamad Sila and his unidentified friend were travelling to Supe village in Tambon Riang when they were attacked by gunmen brandishing military-grade weapons and killed.

The attack resulted in the pickup skidding off the road.

Security officials believed the attack was related to the ongoing unrest in the deep South because Muhamad worked for an intelligence unit.

This is not acceptable. Time to forget about political correctness.

wow..... ya think?

Must have been personal revenge for the Junta's crackdown on human trafficking. There are no terrorists in Thailand.

....how can they think that infiltrating the region with 'intelligence officers' will solve anything...

...the people in the region have real grievances...yet they are treated like the enemy....in their own country...
