Activists Issue Ultimatum to Junta over Single Gateway

BANGKOK Online activists have given the military government eight days to cancel its plan to route all internet traffic through a single point of control or else see an escalation of their cyberattacks.

Mujigae brings more water but still short of prediction

BANGKOK: -- Mujigae has brought additional water to the country’s four main dams but the amount of water has fallen short of anticipation, said Mr Thongplaew Kongchan, director of the Office of Water Management and Hydrology of Irrigation Department, on Tuesday.

Bangkokians file 52,526 complaints in FY2015

BANGKOK: -- Bangkok Metropolitan Administration received 52,526 complaints in the 2015 fiscal year, from October 2014 through September 2015.

The numbers increased by 4,040 from the previous fiscal year.

BMA’s city clerk office revealed today that of total complaints, 48,928 have been taken care of.

Disturbance was highlighted as the top reason, constituting 12,079 complaints. Trailing behind were violations at public venues (8,488 complaints); sewage pipelines (3,974); traffic (4,070); waste (3,915).

World Bank trims Thailand growth rates this year and next

BANGKOK: -- The World Bank has cut Thailand’s economic growth rate from 3.5 percent to 2.5 percent and predicted that the growth next year would be further trimmed to just 2 percent from 4 percent, according to the bank’s latest regional report released on Monday.

Money trail probe shows money transfers from abroad to bombing suspects

Anti-government movement protests against new drafters

BANGKOK: -- Police clear a road in front of the Parliament after members of the New Democracy Movement finish their protest on Tuesday. The protest was against the junta's appointment of new charter drafters.

Law veteran Meechai Ruchuphan chairs the Constitution Drafting Committee that comprises 21 members.

The former CDC was dissolved after National Reform Council voted down its charter draft.

PHUKET: -- The ongoing case against the developers of the Ace Condominium project in Patong is not likely to be filed in court for at least another month as it has now been revealed that a further suspect has been called into the case. Police have declined to name the suspect.
