I'm travelling to thailand at the start of march 2007 and and will be staying for longer than thirty days but less than sixty. However the problem is that i'm leaving Britain where i'm a citizen to start my travels in November so i can't obtain a visa here before i go as it will expire due to the limit of three months. I will have my airline ticket confirming the duration of my stay if that helps.

Is there a way round this problem?

thanks so much for your help

If you don't mind the added expense of getting two tourist visas, this will extend the visa expiration date to 6-months (which will get you to March). This will preclude you from having to stumble around in some foreign country looking for a Thai Embassy/Consulate -- and possibly screwing up your time schedule.

But...not all Thai Embassies/Consulates will issue multiple tourist visas. You'll need to check this out.

(And, it's also been posted that some Embassies/Consulates are still using 3-month expiration criteria, even for multiple tourist visas. So, one more thing to check out....)
