Ferry from Phangan to Tao - Book ticket at pier the day before?

Hi all,

The last time we went from Phangan to Tao, we booked ticket through agent and still had to collect actual ticket (1 hour Q!) at the pier before departure.

I'm wondering, this time, can we go direct to Thong Sala pier ticket office and purchase the actual ticket the day before, to avoid q'ing?

Same same goes for leaving Ko Tao - We got a "Fly n ferry" from Nokair, all in one... can we go to the ticket office the day before on Tao and collect the actual ferry ticket?

Just go on the day ,at the offices at the pier, no need to go the day before, its very quiet at the moment so you shall def,get seats.

I'm not too worried about getting a seat on the day, it's the Q'ing I hate! Hence why I was hoping to just buy the actual ticket (not from an agent) at the office the day before, as we're only staying 2km from the pier and will have transport.

Even if you buy the ticket from the office, the reason you have to queue is to confirm your ticket and get your little sticker etc so irrelevant when or whom you buy from.

I am predominantly speaking for KT, but what i tend to do is head down about an hour early for the morning boat when few people are around, do the ticket confirmation etc and then head to tattoo bar or the alike for some breakfast/refresments.

You can then watch the boats coming and going from your perch and simply walk up and straight onto the boat when they start boarding so you dont have to sit around on the pier either.

Thanks, that's a great suggestion and we'll go with that when leaving Ko Tao... we'll try the same when leaving Koh Phangan :)
