Tourist Visa Extension - what to take?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I've been in bangkok since the 24th September on a 30 day tourist visa, i want to extend this by 30 or 60 days (if possible)

What do I need to bring with me? Do I need my rental contract? I have this months but i'll be travelling through thailand for the next month.

I'm from the UK

Thanks!

There are no 30 day tourist visas or 60 day extensions of such.

You most likely entered the country with a visa exempt entry (it is not a "visa") which provided a 30 day stay.

To extend this stay by 30 days you need .............

Passport.

Copies of the passport data page, entry stamp and departure card.

A passport photo

A completed application TM7 form and the 1900 Bht fee.

Some immigration offices will ask for proof of address.

You can only have one 30 day extension so, Yes, after that you will have to leave.

You do however have the option of applying for a Tourist Visa at a nearby Thai Embassy/Consulate.
In Vientiane, Laos a double entry tourist visa can be applied for.

A passport photo

Best to say a 4 cm X 6 cm photo. Some passport photos are only 3.5 X 4.5.
