Hi,

I'm planning to travel in Thailand / Laos around January next year, and wondering what's the best or fastest way to get from Khao Yai reservation (near Pak Chong) to Nong Khai, either by bus or train. According to the timetables, the train that goes to Nong Khai doesn't pass near Pak Chong so it's complicating things for me.

I read that there are beautiful places in the Issan and I can spare one day on the way. Do you have any recommendation of a good route to get there?

Take a local bus to Nakhon Ratchasima....you will find connections there...

Do you have any idea where I can find timetables for local buses at this area?

I'm looking for something unique to do in the Issan that can't be seen in either North Thailand or Laos, because otherwise I'll probably have to turn back to Kaeng Khoi Junction and catch the night train so I can save some money on a guest house for that night. Unfortunately I can't find a night train from Nakhon Ratchasima to Nong Khai.
